James , Mary and Lloyd Cox founded Cox Hardware in 1946, and the company has been continuously in the Hardware and Lumber business ever since. Today the Cox family still owns and actively manages this Houston hardware store, along with an outstanding professional staff. We have two acres of buildings, yards and parking area, just minutes from downtown Houston. Our online hardware store carries on the tradition of great customer service and personal attention. 

We are also member-owners of Handy Hardware Wholesale and Do-It-Best hardware cooperatives. These two companies stock and regularly deliver over 70,000 products to us and thousands of similar hardware stores, lumber yards and industrial supply companies across the United States, Mexico and and the Carribean. The main Handy warehouse, at 560,000 ft, is located just 5 miles from our store, giving us unparalleled access to over 43,000 individual products. The Do-It-Best warehouse, located in Waco, Texas, stocks over 70,000 items. Both companies serve us with weekly scheduled truck deliveries. 

In addition to these fine distributors, we also purchase many of the products we stock directly from over 200 manufacturers. This gives us the flexibility to stock the exact items you need, or the product brand that you want, or just something a little unusual.
